You CAN Eat Healthy for the Holidays too!

  November 28, 2013

Today, I have the privilege to host the BIG Thanksgiving Day Feast! As you know I love to cook so I can’t wait to share food with my family. This day is meant to be surrounded by family and friends and of course food too.  All too often just the thought behind the day can be enough to send some eaters into a frenzy, but it doesn’t have to be that way!

Thanksgiving is one day and only that. If you indulge in the one extra dessert or take the extra serving of turkey it’s not going to be the end of the world. One day doesn’t define you and it certainly doesn’t lead to weight gain, obesity, high blood pressure or even diabetes.

As you set out today I want to your to try something, treat this day like any other day. Enjoy 3 square meals of breakfast, lunch and dinner and include in between sit down snacks. Know that when you sit down for one meal the next meal is right around the corner!

It’s a proven fact that the average human who diets creates far more problems than they solve. Stop living your life under food restriction, while other people scamper happily along eating whatever they please and staying blissfully thin.

Today, learn to trust your body – and only when you truly listen to it will you have the health and body you desire!

Have a Blessed Day from my Family to Yours!!

Much Love,

Dana Snook, RDN, CDE, CIC
